Syracuse Releases Orange alternate

Syracuse just released via twitter the new alternate uniform of the team going into 2015. With an orange base jersey and plain navy blue pants, Nike hit the nail head hard with this one. It gives it a traditional college football image with the basic colors, and then the touch of modern football, shoulders and numbers with thin stripes. The shoulders feature navy blue stripes, the numbers circulate between a lighter shade of blue with the navy blue. On the collar, at the break of the ribbon effect on Nike jerseys, the iconic Syracuse flags crisscrossed. The plain orange helmet fits the uniform great.

    Any complaints about this uniform?

Peak at the 2016 Pro Bowl Uniforms

As part of the "On the 50" Super Bowl Celebration, the NFL has released sneak peaks at the 2016 Pro Bowl uniform. The 2016 NFL Pro Bowl will be played in Hawaii instead of Arizona as the 2015 one was, and the NFL has decided to go with a traditional color scheme.

SMU Releases New "Patriot" Helmet

After an extremely disappointing season in Dallas, SMU has decided to give fans a little help to sell tickets and cause excitement by releasing this new "patriot" lid.

To me, one of the more interesting things with this helmet is the blue backround. SMU has been going with red as the primary color for a good long time now, and the chrome facemask is interesting too. However, I'm not sure that even SMU knows when they will use this helmet. I guess around the time the NFL has the Salute To Servicemen, but, maybe not. Either way, it'll be an interesting idea to add to a SMU helmet.

Oregon State Rocks New Throwback Helmet- 2015 Spring Practice

Oregon State has decided to sport a new (older) look with a throwback style to older Beaver helmets.

Oregon State had similar helmets back in 1979 (see image above), only they featured orange helmets with black border around the "Beavers" wordmark. In the 1990's, the Beavers went with a very similar helmet design, only with a white backround and an orange wordmark. To me, they have an unmistakable look that reminds me of the Dennis Erickson days when Oregon State made the Sugar Bowl run and destroyed Notre Dame. However, it is a big stepback from last years helmets.

The helmets are seeing action in the Spring Training this season, and it is currently not known whether or not the helmets will be used for anything else.
