Purdue releases New Alternate Uniform

Teams have enjoyed making gray uniforms as alternates. Purdue is the latest to jump in on this trend. Check out the latest installment of College football uniforms!

My favorite part of it is the helmet. That stripe design sure looks epic. The number font looks good with the rest of the uniform, and besides that, what else is there?

Cleveland Browns release new uniforms

The Cleveland Browns have released brand new uniforms for the 2015 season and beyond, allowing Nike to make a creative and bright uniform for the Browns who have sported the same look for decades. 9 different combinations can be made from the set of uniforms, who now look eerily like a mashup of the uniforms worn by the Big 12's Oklahoma State and the PAC 12's Oregon State.

However, anyone can see a lot of work was put into these uniforms to try and keep a traditional feel about them despite the need for modern change. The first thing I want to touch base on is the stripes on the pants. They are ingenious. Using a triple stripe for the first few inches, then switching to the BROWNS line. But looking closely at the stripe, you see a texture they added to the entire stripe, allowing it to show even when it matches the color of the rest of the pants. Ingenious.

Next, the CLEVELAND above the number on the front. It doesn't show from a distance, but these uniforms are Nike's first to feature contrast stitching. It gives it quite a feel that is unique in pretty much any way. Executives said that putting Cleveland large on the front was an idea that had come early in production. Designers played with the idea, trying BROWNS or DAWG POUND, but ultimately, it was decided that the city name had to go there, for the fans who brought Cleveland back in 1999.

Contrast stitching can be seen pretty well here from this picture. The Browns numbers are made out of Nike's Chainmaile mesh, a fabric that no other NFL team is using at this current point. It leaves a very favorable impression on the rest of the jersey.

The last thing I'm touching base on is the new orange alternate uniform. In all orange, the Browns front office felt that it would be an "exciting" change. The Browns have worn orange exactly 5 times in their existence. The last time was in 2002, when the Browns played the Texans.

In my closing remarks, the Browns have put together a great uniform to wear with pride for years to come. I like it a lot, it's uniqueness yet it's tribute to 60+ years of Browns football is a light touch to the rest of the NFL.
